8 Months Old Today!

Simon is 8 months old today!! Time is just flying by. He has recently started clapping and pointing his finger at everything. He has also figured out how to dance and clap whenever any type of music is playing. No teeth yet but we can see little white buds just ready to poke through. His favourite song is "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and he will try very hard to do the hand actions when I sing it for him. He's not crawling yet but he's starting to show signs that he might be able to soon. Can't believe it's just 4 more months until his 1st birthday!!

I've Been Working On The Railroad...

Isabelle wearing some of Daddy's old train conductor gear. Now that Daddy's in the office full-time, he won't have much use for these anymore.

Riding My Trike

The weather has been a little strange but when it's nice, you have to take advantage of it and enjoy the outdoors. Here is Isabelle riding Auntie Mako's tricycle from when she was little. She's getting pretty good at pedalling but steering is another issue. Now that we moved, it's easy to just open the garage and get outside...we really love it.

Isabelle The Smotherer

Isabelle just adores her little brother. Simon loves being adored by his big sister BUT...most of the time, Isabelle tends to smother Simon just a little too much. It ends up with Simon getting pretty upset, as you can see here.

Tickle Trunk

We keep a little tickle trunk in our bedroom full of odd little toys that the kids don't see very often. We keep it there so Simon and Isabelle are entertained if we have something we need to get done while upstairs.

I Know It's Cruel

I know it's cruel but this video makes us laugh. It's not so much Simon but Isabelle is pretty darn funny. She's saying "May I see?" over and over again.

Major Separation Anxiety

Simon has developed major separation anxiety with me. Even Daddy isn't relief if he's really having a rough day. I can't leave him in one spot for very long and big crocodile tears come rolling down his chubby cheeks if I leave his sight. Makes it hard for me to get anything done around the house or even just go to the washroom. Poor Isabelle gets told to wait a lot of the time for help while I figure out a way to cause the least amount of anxiety for Simon. I can be standing right in front of him sometimes and he will cry until I pick him up. I guess the good thing is that it is just a phase...I hope.

TV In Bed When You're Sick

Isabelle and Simon have had a wicked cold for the past week. Isabelle had it first and naturally, she passed it on to Simon. They both had very mild fevers but the worst has been the violent coughing. Here they are watching the t.v. in our bed just after they woke up. Simon has only a diaper on because he just finished throwing up all the breastmilk I had fed him. He can't keep anything down if he starts coughing...we've even put a hold on solids until he is back to 100%. Isabelle is a lot better now but she still has a pretty bad cough.
