A Rare Picture Of Mom With Kids

Since I'm always the one with the camera in hand, I don't have very many photos of me with both the kids. Here's one finally...my hair is a little askew but I'm okay with that. :o)

Roots Kids

Isabelle and Simon wearing the same sweatshirt. Isabelle got all excited yelling out "It's the same one!!" when we got them dressed today. I don't know how we ended up with 3 of the same sweatshirts in 3 different sizes.

4 Months Old!!

Our little guy is 4 months old today!! Can't believe how fast the time is flying by. Simon "talks" a lot now and loves it when people laugh and smile with him. He is also unusually very dexterous with his hands and can grab objects in front of him quite well.

Isabelle has adjusted very well to having a little brother around and will often ask to hold him so that she can kiss and cuddle with him. She also does a lot for him like getting toys when he is upset or being silly to make him smile. She also calls him "Drooly Boooooy" because we think he has overactive saliva glands.

We haven't weighed him and measured him recently but that will be done when he is 19 weeks old. I'm sure the shirt he is wearing in this picture is a pretty good indicator that he isn't a lightweight. His 6 months clothes are getting to be a little snug and he can easily fit into 9-12 month clothing. Maybe he will be a future football player!!

Harry Potter...Sort Of

"These glasses are pretty cool...do I look like Harry Potter?"
"Ok, I changed my mind...take them off please!"

Gingerbread House

Grandma bought Isabelle a gingerbread house kit so she could build her first one. She had a lot of fun decorating the house and a lot of fun trying to sneak the candies while we weren't looking. We had to be sure that she wasn't eating any of the hard candies though. Thanks Grandma!

The finished product.

Two Little Monkeys Sitting On The Ledge

We joined Holly and her family for dinner at a local Japanese restaurant this evening. After dinner, Holly and Isabelle got a little tired of sitting at the table so they decided to go sit on the window ledge at the front of the restaurant. These two little monkeys are always up to something...last time Isabelle was the one that fell off the stairs and bumped her head.

A Little Light Reading

Simon loves looking at books and having books read to him now. He will usually sit quietly and listen to a story, even if it's a long story that Isabelle likes to listen to.

OCD Or Exceptional Organizer?

Isabelle is very particular about certain things, especially organizing her toys. Today she was playing with her Little People and when I looked over, she had sorted them into a line of all animals, all people, and made sure that the 2 dinosaurs were separate from the rest. She likes to organize and sort most things, even condiments at the restaurant.

Super Saturdays At The Aquarium

Today we met up with Miss S and her baby sister and Mommy at the Aquarium. The Aquarium occasionally runs a Super Saturday where the Aquarium is only open to members for an hour in the morning. It comes with a complimentary coffee and newspaper. The only problem with it, is that it runs a little early (8:30-9:30am) to get out the door with 2 kids and all the way across the city. Simon usually sleeps until 8 or 9am.

Tummy Time

Simon is getting better at tummy time. He's holding his head higher and for a longer period. He's growing up quickly. If you're wondering about the sock on his right hand, it's because he scratches his head and leaves marks. His cradle cap drives him crazy and he only scratches with the right hand because he needs his left hand to suck his thumb. :o)

Thanks to Ben's Mom for the link. I thought it was hilarious so we just had to try. We all had a great laugh...especially with Simon dancing. Enjoy!!

That Time Of Year

I wasn't really organized to get pictures done this year of the whole family so I decided I would just take a few on my own of just the kids. Isabelle is also going through a phase of not wanting to sit for a professional photographer...she just resists. You know it's really hard to get a 2-year-old and a 3-month-old to sit still for photos and actually get them both to smile at the same time. I think it went pretty well considering. Photo #5 made the cut.

Grouse Mountain Family Day

We went up to Grouse Mountain today for a Christmas family day that Daddy's company put on. Everything was paid for and Isabelle and Simon even got Christmas gifts. We weren't sure if we were going to make it there because of all the snow but we're glad we decided to go. It was a blizzard up on the mountain but Isabelle really enjoyed the snow. Simon and I stayed inside the main lodge to stay warm.

Smiley Simon

Simon loves his activity mat and the mirror turtle mirror. Every time we place him under there, he starts smiling and babbling away at himself. It's pretty funny to watch sometimes when he really gets into "talking."
