It's Finally Ready...

I apologize for the huge delay in publishing our new blog. I don't really have to make a new blog every year but I find it's kind of a nice way to keep track of everything. It's not completely up to date with all of our happenings but it's at least started, so keep checking back and I'll try and bring us up to the present. :o) I present...

We're Still Here...

I apologize for not updating our blog at all in the last couple of months. Things have been pretty busy around here especially with Isabelle in school 5 days/week in the afternoons. I haven't been taking a whole lot of pictures but I promise I will update soon. I'm actually creating a new blog. Thanks for being so patient and I will post the new blog address when it is ready!!

An Artist In The Works

Isabelle and Simon got this cool art easel as a gift. Isabelle has been busy drawing all sorts of things and I am totally floored by how well she can actually draw. Here is a picture of a sun with a face and a fish to the left of it...along with a bunch of circle scribbles which she loves to draw. There was another picture that she drew of a monkey that was exceptionally well drawn but she scribbled circles all over it before I could get a picture.

Isabelle & Simon's Birthday Party

We held Isabelle and Simon's combined birthday party today since their birthday's are so close together. We decided to hold it at our complex clubhouse. There were a total of nine 3-year-olds, one 5-year-old, four 1-year-olds, 2 babies, and 21 adults. It was a full house!! We played a couple of games including a scavenger hunt that the kids really enjoyed. Thank you all for coming!!
Simon's Baby Einstein Caterpillar cake. I forgot the antennas...didn't have the pipe cleaners I needed but no one seemed to notice.

Isabelle requested a Curious George cake so I did some research online and found a cool method to make drawings from scratch. It's called a frozen buttercream transfer. It turned out pretty well so I was happy with it and everyone really liked it at the party...especially the birthday girl.

Playland

Waiting for the roller coaster to go.

We went to Playland today with our friends, Holly, Ben, and Cassie and their Mommies. Ben and Cassie's little sisters were there too! It was a hot day but we slathered on the sunscreen and hit as many rides as we could. We all had a lot of fun!
This was the roller coaster we rode. It was the first ride we went on so it took a little convincing to get Isabelle to go on any ride after that. She was a little scared of this one.

There were a few rides that even Simon could go on. Here he is on the train ride.

Holly and her Mommy.

Isabelle on the carousel. Simon and I went on this one too.

Simon dancing to the background music.

Isabelle shocked me when she decided that she was going to go up this climbing apparatus. Usually she will refuse to do anything like this but she was determined. Ben was a pro and went up and down the thing about 10 times!! Luckily, there was an older boy who decided to give Isabelle a big hand through a lot of the obstacles. I was very proud of her that she was brave enough to go through the whole thing.

The final stretch down the slide. Isabelle doesn't know how to sit up on a slide so she always lays down.

The Super Slide. Holly's Mom took Isabelle and I went down with Simon. Thanks to Ben's Mom for the photo.

An Evening At The Beach

We went out to one of our local beautiful beaches this evening and had a little picnic dinner. This was Simon's 2nd time at the beach but his first time actually playing in the sand. I guess he was pretty hungry since I caught him licking his fingers full of sand a couple of times. Good thing he doesn't have any molars yet!! Isabelle had a blast playing in the sand too but she still has some issues about getting dirty. She did get a chance to try out her new beach toys though. :o)
